Onion

India is the second largest onion growing country in the world. Indian onions are famous for their pungency and are available round the year. Indian onions has two crop cycles, first harvesting starts in November to January and the second harvesting from January to May.

Most importantly, onions contain potassium and their intake fulfils that requirement. Potassium helps in the functioning of kidneys, muscle contraction and nerve transmission. Onions indeed can't be skipped and are one of the main staple vegetables in India.

Onions contain antioxidants and compounds that fight inflammation, decrease triglycerides, and reduce cholesterol levels — all of which may lower heart disease risk. Their potent anti-inflammatory properties may also help reduce high blood pressure and protect against blood clots.
